Commissioning

Every kitchen we design is unique. Every design process is tailored to the client. But to give you an idea of how we work, outlined below are the stages of a typical commission with Landmark.

Step one - Meet us

Give us a ring and arrange a time for a face-to-face meeting at our Trebyan Forge studio. This initial session is free of charge and will enable us to get to grips with the basic concepts, budget, functionality and requirements of your kitchen project. Make a wish list and watch it come to life as we work through the steps of the process.

Step two - Design presentation

Meet us a Trebyan once again, this time for a presentation of our initial proposals. This will include a design sketch, and a guide price. We will discuss the design and give you the opportunity to view sample materials, it will give you the opportunity to offer feedback and discuss your project in further detail. As a result of this meeting you should be in a position to decide if you are happy to proceed.

Step three - Developing the scheme

When you are happy with the initial proposals the next stage is to commission a full set of design drawings, the fee for this is £500 and is refunded upon placing your order. This enables us to complete a site survey, develop the design in further detail and explore your exact requirements in depth, we will listen to your feedback and make amendments and revisions accordingly. We will prepare a 3D virtual tour of your scheme, full working drawings to be used by your building team. Once the final specifications are agreed, a fixed price contract is drawn up.

Step four - Sign off

Once the deposit is paid, the site surveyed and drawings signed off, the schedule of the work and critical milestones are finalised. We will liaise with the architect and/or principle contractor as required. At this stage the cabinetry also goes into build.

Step five - Delivery and installation

Pre-installation checks are carried out, and then cabinet installation takes place over the course of about a week. Following this the worktops and splash-backs will be fabricated off site and installed about a week to ten days later (depending on the specification). For all hand-painted kitchens we require an additional 5-10 days on site in a dust-free environment.

We meet on site at a mutually agreeable time and run through all the finished features and appliances, to ensure you make the most out of your fantastic new kitchen.
